Our Mission Statement

As an alternative school for children with special needs, we are fully dedicated to guiding our students toward cultivating a mindset of lifelong learning and toward helping them reach their full potential by providing academic, vocational, social, and behavioral programs fit to their individual needs.

Our Vision Statement

We aim to inspire our students to pursue learning for a lifetime. With the help of a team of professionals, area organizations, community providers, and corporate sponsors, YES Academy works in tandem to make learning culturally responsive and engaging in every way imaginable.

Your Educational Success (YES) is an alternative private special education school for students with IEPs or Individualized Educational Programs. The concept for YES Academy resulted from the success of YSET Academy http://www.yset.org which was founded in 2003. Students and families who prefer an out-of-school district placement find in us the less restrictive learning setting enhanced with various academic, vocational, social, and behavioral programs and workshops all aligned to Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks. Students with special education needs, especially those who are identified with Emotional Disability (ED), Specific Learning Disability (SLD), Intellectual Disability (InD), Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), and Other Health Impairments (OHI) are provided with hands-on programs designed to produce overall academic, social, and emotional success.

Your Educational Success also believes in health and wellness as a component of a healthy mind and a healthy body, which is why we also incorporate fruits and vegetables during meal time and provide opportunities for physical activities throughout the day. Overall, our overarching goal is to provide academic and behavioral services that enable each child to develop to their full potential based on their individual strengths and talents.

CORE VALUES

  • YES believes that each child can develop to their full academic and behavioral potential based on their individual strengths and talents.
  • YES believes that each student’s academic achievement can be attained through an individualized approach to instruction.
  • YES believes that with the right support, students can acquire the age appropriate skills needed to successfully re-enter the public-school setting.
  • YES believes that all students can interact in an age-appropriate manner with peers.
  • YES believes that when provided with a safe environment to feel emotionally stable, students can develop their cognitive abilities, social interactions, and make meaningful connections with others.
  • YES believes that education can be achieved through providing project-based learning opportunities that will enable students to work collectively within a team and independently solve problems.
  • YES believes that through visual, audio, and kinesthetic teaching and learning techniques, students are taught rigorous standards’-based lessons at their levels of understanding.
  • YES believes in the strength of family and school collaboration to supporting and sustaining a student’s positive learning and development.
  • YES believes in health and wellness as a component of a healthy mind and a healthy body; therefore, YES incorporates fruits and vegetables during meal time and provides opportunities for physical activities throughout the day.
  • YES believes in cultural competency, as it is important to respect, understand, and acknowledge the differences and similarities of the diverse students in the classroom. Cultural diversity among staff and students enriches and enhances all members of the YES community.
